Rubber Mats. Do Not Let Mud Damage Your Floor

category Mats, posted June 10, 2011

Let us think where we can see rubber mats today. We can see them at front doorsteps, in the cars, garages, near pools, etc. These are rubber mats that do not let water, dust, mud and sand damage the surface of floor, especially used as outdoor mats. There are also runners, gym mats, anti-fatigue mats made of rubber, etc.

As for outdoor mats, some people prefer metal grating instead of rubber mats. But in fact in some areas they are not effective and require additional protection from mud, snow and water. Some experts offer increased protection which involves three levels of mudguard. The first level includes front door metal gratings and rubber mats. They are used outdoors and help to remove u to 55% of dirt. The second level involves mudguard wearing carpets and rubber mats. They should be used right in front of the door. The third level includes water-absorbing mats such as carpet-topped and woven ones. They are used indoors. But it could be a mistake to say rubber mats can be used only outdoors. There are also indoor mats. They differ in durability of materials.

But as it was said rubber mats are use not only as door mats. A lot of garage owners use them to protect flooring of their garages from stains, oil spills, etc. The surface of these mats is non-slip and it is one of their disadvantages, but not only. Reasonable prices also make them attractive for those buyers who try to protect flooring of their houses, garages and cars. These mats are easy to maintain and clean, but they should not be washed in the washing machine. They are usually cleaned with household cleaning agents and then rinsed with water. But when talking about disadvantages of rubber mats, it should be mentioned mats made of rubber can melt at very high temperatures and their resistant to petroleum is very low.
