As for the styles of modern furniture, classic and modernist styles are the most popular. A few years ago unusual shapes and screaming colors dominated. Modernist style furniture is notable for bold and unexpected forms. As for materials, it is mostly made of metals, glass and plastic. Classic style furniture also wins a market step by step. It is unmistakable. Generally, it is made of finewoods combined with man-made materials imitating natural ones. Its lines are regular-shaped. Classic style shows a strong dislike to novelties.

Materials used to make modern furniture are mostly natural, but they tend to imitate plastic, glass or other artificial materials. In turn, manufacturers of plastic try to ennoble it and add droplets of glass or wood veneer. Of course, finewoods having beautiful texture emphasized with dull wax are still trendy.

Though, white oak tends to be replaced with cedar, cherry-tree, merbau and other woods having brown color with a red tint. As for metals, bronze and brass dominate. And at last, manufacturers of modern furniture tend to use brocade, jacquarette and various combinations of wool with leather.
